Privacy Policy — Detective Sudoku app

Detective Sudoku does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
- No analytics or tracking of any kind.
- No advertising SDKs.
- No accounts. Your game progress is stored only on your device (and in your personal iCloud device backup, if enabled).
- In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Purchase receipts are validated on-device by the App Store.
- The app makes no network requests other than those Apple’s StoreKit performs for purchases.

This policy may be updated if the app’s behavior changes; the current version always ships in the repository and on this page.
Website privacy notice
The following sections apply to detectivesudoku.com and its browser-based puzzle tools, not to the offline iOS app described above.
Website delivery and security
The website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. When you request a page or use a website tool, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser and device information, and security signals. This is necessary to deliver the website, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and keep the service secure. The legal basis is the developer’s legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.
Cloudflare acts as a service provider for website delivery, security, aggregate analytics and the photo-analysis endpoints described below. Technical data may be processed outside the European Economic Area under Cloudflare’s applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. Detective Sudoku does not sell this data or use it to build advertising profiles.
Cookies and browser storage
Detective Sudoku does not set advertising, preference or analytics cookies, and it does not use browser storage to track visitors. An ordinary page visit is designed to work without a cookie.
Cloudflare may set a short-lived, strictly necessary cookie if a visitor encounters a security challenge, bot-protection check or a security rate limit. Such cookies are used only to protect and deliver the requested service. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Because only necessary security cookies may be used, the website does not display a consent banner.
Cookie-free analytics
Cloudflare provides aggregate network analytics and may provide Cloudflare Web Analytics for page visits and performance. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures information such as page path, referring host, country, device type, browser, operating system and page-load timing without cookies or local storage. It does not provide Detective Sudoku with a profile of an identified visitor and is not used to follow people across unrelated websites. Query strings are not included in Cloudflare Web Analytics reports.
These measurements are used to understand whether pages load correctly and which public pages are useful. The legal basis is the developer’s legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the website with a privacy-preserving measurement service.
Puzzle photos and solver tools
When you use a photo-based puzzle tool, the selected images are transmitted for the purpose of reading and analyzing that puzzle. Detective Sudoku does not attach them to an account, publish them, use them for advertising or intentionally retain them after returning the result. Do not upload images containing faces, contact details or other unrelated personal information.
The image and any structured puzzle details you enter are processed by a Detective Sudoku endpoint running on Cloudflare and by Cloudflare’s image-analysis service. Responses are sent with instructions not to cache them. Request and security metadata may still appear in Cloudflare’s technical logs according to Cloudflare’s retention settings.
Following an external App Store link is subject to Apple’s own privacy practices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection concerning personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In the Czech Republic, the supervisory authority is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů).
